New school year at kindergarten: what to prepare in advance
1. 9. 2026
The start of a new school year is always busy – new and returning families, updated contact details, and plenty of important information that needs to reach parents on time. Preparing a few things in advance can make the first weeks much easier.
1. Set up the new school year and classes
Start by creating the new school year in the administration and assigning the relevant classes. Once everything is set up, attendance and records can be managed according to the current school year.
2. Review parent and guardian details
New parents, changed phone numbers, updated email addresses – the beginning of the school year is the perfect time to check your records and fill in anything that is missing.
Having up-to-date contact details from the start saves time later when you need to reach someone quickly.
3. Send the first announcements
A welcome message, information about the first week, or a reminder about what children should bring – announcements can be sent to the whole kindergarten or only to a specific class.
You can also see who has already read the message, so important information is easier to keep track of.
4. Renew consents
The beginning of the school year is also a good opportunity to review and renew consents, such as permission for photography or personal data processing.
This is especially important for newly enrolled children.
5. Get attendance ready from day one
Before the school year gets fully underway, it is worth testing attendance and absence records with the team.
That way, teachers already know how everything works when the first busy days begin.
We wish you a smooth and stress-free start to the new school year!
